Mykala Johnico - a sophomore pitcher from Topeka, Kansas - struck out 17 batters in a 1-hit shutout over Southwestern College. Johnico went 1-1 on the week while striking out 28 batters and allowing only four earned runs in 13 innings pitched. She is now 3-1 on the season with 54 strikeouts and a 1.38 ERA.
