The Indy Pirates softball team bounced back with a win and a split series against the visiting Highland Community College Scotties.
Taking game one with a score of 14-8, the Pirates (9-29) continued their hot stretch of scoring runs (averaging 6 runs per game) and putting pressure on the other team's defense. At one point, Highland led 7-5, but Indy stormed back, scoring 9 runs to 1 for the last few innings.
Highland ramped up their intensity in the second game, winning by a score of 7-2. Striking out 13 Pirate batters, the Scotties played their absolute best to stymie the hot bats of Independence.
