Raven Men Avenge First Loss of Season in 102-74 Defeat of Indy Pirates

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Basketball team avenged their first loss of the season with an emphatic 102-74 victory of the Independence Pirates.  The win propels the Ravens' overall record to 19-2 including a 17-2 mark in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) games.  The 17-2 conference mark has Coffeyville in first place in the  KJCCC East standings, a game ahead of Cowley College.

The Red Ravens were locked in for this one. Coffeyville shot a sizzling 62% (38-61) from the field and a scorching 55% (11-20) from the three-point line.  After the first few minutes, Coffeyville led the entire game building a 51-38 lead at halftime.  The Ravens' intensity in the second half was unmatched and Coffeyville cruised to the 102-74 victory.

Coffeyville led Indy in rebounds (35-34), assists (16-11), and points off turnovers (28-7).

Coffeyville was led again by sophomore guard Tylor Perry who had a game-high 24 points while shooting 5/7 from behind the three-point arc.  Perry is currently first in 3-pt percentage in the KJCCC, making 53.2% of his three-point shots. 

Other contributors for Coffeyville included freshman Love Bettis with 19 points, sophomore Bostyn Holt and freshman Markeith Browning with 13 points each, freshman Hayden Brittingham with 12 points, and sophomore Kevaughn Ellis with 11 points.

Coffeyville will look to wrap-up another KJCCC championship on Wednesday, March 31st with their last regular-season game.  The Ravens will host the Butler Grizzlies in Nellis West with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
