Coach Lance Jones is an up-and-coming coach in the college football world and enters his first season with the Pirates.
 
Coach Jones just finished serving as a Graduate Assistant and Assistant Offensive Line Coach at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB), while also leading the Crusaders' JV program as Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach.
A proud native of Manvel, Texas, Jones played high school football at Manvel High School, where he helped lead the Mavericks to a state runner-up finish in 2017. He went on to have a standout career at UMHB, where from 2018 to 2022, he played an integral role on the offensive line, helping the Crusaders to:
  • Five American Southwest Conference (ASC) Championships
  • Two NCAA Division III National Championships (2018, 2021)
  • An overall record of 59-3, including two undefeated seasons (15-0 in both 2018 and 2021).
Following his playing career, Coach Jones transitioned to coaching at UMHB. He spent the 2023-2024 seasons as a Graduate Assistant, assisting the varsity offensive line. During this time, the Crusaders advanced to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals in 2024. Jones also took on the role of Head Offensive Line Coach for the JV team in 2023, leading the squad to a 6-1 record, and then moved into the role of Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach for the JV team in 2024, where they finished undefeated at 5-0.
Coach Jones holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UMHB and is currently pursuing his MBA. With his championship pedigree, player-centric approach, and strong leadership skills, Coach Jones continues to develop players and elevate programs at every level he coaches.
