Lady Pirates Play Host To #11 Seward County In Midweek Contest

INDEPENDENCE, Kan. - With the second half of the season already underway, the Independence Lady Pirates (6-7, 1-5) are back at ICC Field House Wednesday January 9 hosting the #11 Seward County Saints (12-2, 4-1).

"Our plan against Seward County is to limit the amount of times they have looks at the bucket," coach Leslie Crane said. "We've got to stay with them on the boards and out rebound them and cut our turnovers down forcing them in multiple areas."

"They're long and not extremely quick, so we have to use that to our advantage and not allow second chance points and avoid sending them to the free throw line for a low possession game."

This season the Lady Pirates have averaged 65.2 points pe game along with 40.4 rebounds. Seward County averages 75.7 points per game with 41.0 rebounds riding a six-game winning streak.

Wednesday's matchup is set to tip off at 6 pm.
