The Independence Community College Women's basketball team ended the 2017-2018 season as the NJCAA Region VI Runner-up after falling to No. 1 ranked Seward County Community College 47-58 in the championship game on Wednesday, March 7 at Hartman Arena in Park City, KS. Three lady pirates- sophomores Jordan Schoenberger and Alek Akuen and freshman Fatarah Kinnard were named to the NJCAA Region VI all-tournament team. 

The team ends the season with a KJCCC Division I record of 21-5 and an overall record of 26-7.
