Pirates Put Win-Streak On The Line Hosting #19 Seward County

January 8, 2019

INDEPENDENCE, Kan. - Following a hard-fought road win to begin the second half of the season, the Independence Pirates (10-5, 5-1) return home Wednesday January 9 against the #19 Seward County Saints (11-3, 4-1).

"Seward County has a really good program and plays a really tough schedule," coach Tony Turner said. They're the only team in the conference that has beaten Coffeyville with their length and hard game play."

"They're talent really shows, but if we match their intensity and go out and run our stuff to utilize our big bench and size, we can take advantage of opportunities."

The Pirates thus far have averaged 75.8 points per game along with 40.5 rebounds and are riding a four-game winning streak. Seward County averages 77.4 points per game and 40.9 rebounds coming into the midweek contest.

Wednesday's matchup is set to tip off at 8 pm.
