Pirates rally to get road win at Garden City

After a sluggish start that saw Garden City CC race to a nine point 1st half lead, ICC regained their footing and used a 13-0 run and turned a seven-point deficit into a six-point lead. The first eight minutes of the game saw the Pirates miss four of five shots and turn the ball over seven times. Sophomore guard Tez Scroggins, who led all scorers with 23 points, knocked down a jumper to give the Pirates a 25-23 1st half lead and they would never trail the rest of the game. Scroggins, who had only made 5-3 pointers entering the contest, knocked down three in the 2nd half during a 12-2 Indy run. Sophomore guard Tate Turner finished with 18 points and sophomore forward Mike Carson added 12 points. ICC got 19 points from their bench, shot 49% from the field and took advantage of an off night by the Broncbusters key guys. The victory gives ICC it's 1st postseason win in three seasons.

The Pirates will face top-seeded Hutchinson in Sunday's Region VI quarterfinal at Hartman Arena.
