Pirate Football Alumni Update - Week 8

Delrick Abrams 

The Colorado Buffaloes' undefeated season came to an end Saturday, but for a former Pirate cornerback, the stats continued to roll. 

Delrick Abrams recorded three tackles in a 31-20 loss to USC. 

Colorado (5-1) travels next week to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies.  

Rakeem Boyd 

The struggle continued for the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday as they lost a close conference battle, but for Rakeem Boyd the season of his success continued. 

Boyd picked up 109 yards rushing on 7 carries and scoring a touchdown along with 36 yards on two receptions in a 37-33 loss to Ole Miss. 

Arkansas (1-6) is at home again next week hosting the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 

Emmit Gooden 

It's been a rough season for Emmit Gooden and the Tennessee Volunteers, but on Saturday it all came together in a 30-24 victory over the Auburn and Gooden contributed to the with one tackle on the day. 

Tennessee (3-3) returns home next week hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide. 

Ray Buford 

Former Independence cornerback Ray Buford signed with New Mexico State after last season. The Aggies are having a less than stellar year but Saturday, Buford recorded five tackles for the Aggies in  66-38 loss to Louisiana. 

New Mexico State (2-5) returns home next week to host the Georgia Southern Eagles. 

DJ Williams 

Utah State continued its season of dominance and so did DJ Williams who recorded three tackles in a  59-28 victory over UNLV. 

Utah State (5-1) is on the road next week as they travel to Laramie to take on the Wyoming Cowboys. 

Jamal Scott  

Eastern Illinois fell in a big way on Saturday, but former running back Jamal Scott produced stats in the Panthers' 49-22 loss to Jacksonville State picking up 28 yards on four receptions. 

Eastern Illinois (1-6) returns home next Saturday to take on the UT Martin Skyhawks.
