Netflix releases Last Chance U trailer featuring Independence Community College

Netflix released the official trailer of its season three hit documentary series "Last Chance U" on Tuesday which features the Independence Community College (ICC) pirates football team and is set in Independence, Kan.

Season three of the critically acclaimed, Emmy-nominated series follows the 2017-2018 ICC pirates football team and Coach Jason Brown as they vie for a spot amongst the best in the junior college football ranks. It features a handful of high-profile ICC student-athletes, including former Florida State and four-star quarterback prospect Malik Henry, former Texas Tech wide receiver Carlos Thompson, and former Michigan running back Kingston Davis. The production gives viewers an intense, unfiltered look at the rising underdog ICC junior college football program in the quaint town of Independence, Kan.

The entire third season of "Last Chance U" will premiere on Netflix on July 20, 2018.

Seasons one and two of Last Chance U followed the football team at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Mississippi.

The 2018 pirates football season kicks off Thursday, August 23 at 6:00 p.m. at Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kan. The team continues to be led by Jason Brown who enters his third season as head coach. To view the entire 2018 football schedule, visit the link below.

Last year, the pirates finished the regular season with the top spot in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference with a conference record of 6-1 and overall record of 9-2. They went on to become the 2018 NJCAA Midwest Classic Bowl champions after defeating Northeastern Oklahoma 30-20 and ended the season ranked as the no. 5 NJCAA division I team in the nation.
