The all-time leading scorer in ICC men’s basketball history with 1,558 points, Ruben Patterson made quite an impact during his two-year career at ICC, holding eight current Pirate records.

As a freshman, the native of Cleveland, Ohio, broke the single-season record of 868 points. During that season, his defining moment came on Feb. 15, 1995, in a 97-92 win over Kansas City when he was 21-of-26 from the floor for a school-record 58 points. He was not only named All-Jayhawk Conference, but also received the Freshman of the Year Award in the KJCCC as well as Honorable Mention All-American by the NJCAA.  One year later, Patterson was back at it again, posting the single-season sophomore record at ICC with an average of 27.1 points per game to earn First Team All-American honors.

Patterson finished his college career at the University of Cincinnati, where he averaged 14.6 points and 5.8 rebounds. He earned Second Team All-Conference and Third Team All-American as a senior.
