     A graduate of Edmond Santa Fe High School in Oklahoma City, LaMar Garrett was an immediate success at ICC as he became a two-time national champion and NJCAA All-American in the Pirate track and field program. In 2004, he broke the indoor school record in the high jump with a leap of 6-11 and earned the Region VI championship in the event. He followed that up by winning the indoor national championship with a leap of 6-10 3/4.

     Of course, he wasn’t finished. He became the only two-time national champion in track at ICC by winning the outdoor title as well with a mark of 6-9. Garrett was a USA Junior National qualifier and was one of two athletes invited to the USATF
