Jeff Tadtman
Title: Head Basketball Coach

Leading the Independence women’s basketball team to three straight Region VI championships, Jeff Tadtman still stands as one of the all-time great coaches in ICC history. In his three years with the Lady Pirates, he led the team to an overall mark of 89-21, including two Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division titles and three national tournament appearances. ICC finished eighth nationally in 1994 and 1995 and then as the national runner-up in 1996. Tadtman was named the Junior College Coach of the Year by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association in all three seasons. His 1995-96 team still holds the school record for wins in a season at 34. Four Lady Pirate players were named All-American during Tadtman’s three years at ICC, including Eliza Sokolowska (1994), Julia Terenjuk (1995), Rebecca Baragry (1996) and Ewa Laskowska (1996). After his time in Independence, Tadtman moved up to the NCAA Division I level to coach at UMKC for four seasons. He then moved back to the junior college ranks at Iowa Western. In three seasons, he led the Reivers to a district championship and two national tournament appearances, including a fifth-place finish with a 30-5 mark in 2001-02. Tadtman is preparing to begin his 12th season at Carl Albert State College, where he has a 184-153 mark since 2003. In 21 years overall as a coach, he has a career mark of 385-265 for a .592 winning percentage.
