Title: Head Basketball Coach

In nearly four decades of coaching, Dan Wall compiled more than 600 career victories in basketball. Of course, one of his brightest moments came in 1977 when he led the Independence Community College men’s basketball team to the NJCAA championship. Wall spent two seasons at ICC, compiling an overall mark of 62-6 that included the 1976 and 1977 Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division titles and the 1977 Region VI crown. After leading the Pirates to a 28-4 mark in the 1975-76 season, he took them even farther in his second season as they finished 34-2 overall. With a 75-72 win over San Jacinto (Texas) at the NJCAA Tournament in Hutchinson, ICC claimed the school’s second national championship. Wall was named the national coach of the year. Wall left Independence after two seasons at went on to coach at Southwest Texas State University. During his time there, he led the Bobcats to an 85-35 mark, including a 29-7 record in 1979 that included a third-place finish at the NAIA National Tournament. He still holds the second-best winning percentage as a coach in school history. Wall spent more than two decades as the boys basketball coach at Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville, leading the Golden Tornado to the Class 4A title in  2001. Last year, he was the head coach at Cherryvale High School.
